Who We Are

After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with major focuses in Economics/Business Administration from Hanover College in 1988, he began and has enjoyed his entire career in the insurance industry. With over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, Jerry has spent the past decade helping to build Senior Market Team as a leader in the Medicare marketplace.  His goal is to offer practical and viable solutions to his clients and agent partners. He works with a goal of every agent matters, every question matters and attention to detail is imperative. In his spare time, Jerry enjoys time with his family, playing golf and community service.

Derek is a founding Partner at Senior Market Team, focused on recruiting and supporting agents to grow their business. A second-generation Medicare expert, he began in 1996 alongside his father, bringing deep experience in benefits and insurance to the team. Derek leads by example with the team’s vision—“Making it Easier for Every Agent.” Outside work, he enjoys time with his wife Carrie, their three kids, smoking meat, cheering on the Bengals, and exploring the outdoors.

Originally from Lancashire, England, Sarah never imagined she would be in the health insurance industry. However, Sarah has specialized and become an expert in this field over the past 20 years. Having built a deep understanding of the industry and client’s needs, she is responsible for handling the day-to-day operations and contracting for our Medicare agents. From the initial contracting request to future state appointments and additional carriers, Sarah is there to help our agents each step of the way. Living in NKY with her husband, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Lauren has worked in insurance since 2013 and joined Senior Market Team in 2022. With a background in compliance, she focuses on agent training, marketing, and business development. She leads one-on-one coaching, group trainings, and helps agents create strategies to reach their goals. She also helps plan SMT’s networking and educational events and actively promotes the brand in the community. Lauren holds degrees from Western Illinois University, Salmon P. Chase College of Law, and the University of Cincinnati. She and her husband, Mitchell, have three children, Sylvia, Violet and Lochlan.

Brie, a Taylor Mill, KY native, didn’t expect to work in Medicare, but her background in public relations and event planning now fuels the team’s marketing and outreach. After earning a degree in Integrated Strategic Communications from the University of Kentucky in May 2024, she interned with Kendra Scott and a Cincinnati business, gaining experience in social media and brand promotion. As Marketing and Events Coordinator, she supports event planning, communications, and visibility efforts. Outside of work, she enjoys coffee shops, time with loved ones, and cheering on the Wildcats.
